Scott council adopts amended FY2023–24 budget, approves FY2024–25 budget with $585,000 Lebesque Road project

Brad Kolder, CPA with Kolder, Champagne, Slave, and Company, LLC, presented consolidated budget documents for both the amended 2023–24 fiscal year and the 2024–25 proposed budget, saying revenues had increased and expenses remained largely consistent, and that the city was in good financial standing. Following the presentation, Councilman Boudreaux and Councilman Montoucet proposed adding a capital outlay item to the FY2025 budget: an overlay and reconstruction of Lebesque Road at a cost of $585,000 to be paid from the 2023 Sales Tax Fund.
After the presentation and brief discussion, the council voted on a series of ordinances and resolutions. Councilman Moreau moved and Councilman Boudreaux seconded adoption of Ordinance No. 2024-13, the amended budget ordinance for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024; the motion carried unanimously. Councilman Domingue moved and Councilman Montoucet seconded adoption of Ordinance No. 2024-14, the FY2025 budget ordinance as amended to include the Lebesque Road project; that motion also carried unanimously.
The council then approved two resolutions. Councilman Montoucet moved and Councilman Roy seconded Resolution No. 2024-25 authorizing the mayor to execute an agreement with Rotolo Consultants, Inc. for maintenance of Apollo Road; the motion carried unanimously. Councilman Domingue moved and Councilman Roy seconded Resolution No. 2024-26 authorizing the mayor to execute a professional services contract between the City of Scott and Adworx, Inc.; the motion carried unanimously.
