Town Board adopts Housing Choice Voucher plan, retains appraiser and schedules 2025 budget hearing

At its Oct. 16 meeting the Town of Union Board adopted the final Fiscal Year 2024 Housing Choice Voucher Annual Plan and authorized the Supervisor to execute the certifications and any documents required for submission. The resolution was moved by Councilman David Kudgus and seconded by Councilman Thomas R. Augostini and adopted unanimously.
The board also approved retention of GAR Associates for professional appraisal services in the amount of $2,500 to assist the Assessor and Town Attorney; that resolution was moved by Councilman Thomas R. Augostini and seconded by Councilman David Kudgus and adopted. Separately, the board called for a public hearing to be held Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. to consider the 2025 Preliminary Budget (including water and sewer funds, fire contracts and a proposed tax-cap override local law); the hearing call was adopted by resolution.
All three measures were recorded as adopted by unanimous vote. The Housing Choice Voucher plan adoption authorizes the Supervisor to sign required certifications for submission; the appraisal retention directs staff to proceed with the professional services agreement. The board scheduled a follow-up meeting Oct. 23 to continue 2025 budget discussions.
