Hackberry board approves stipends, hires and multiple administrative plans; schedules special meeting for policy packet

At its July 8 meeting the Hackberry Elementary School District #3 Governing Board approved several personnel and administrative items and scheduled additional policy review.
The board approved a $5,000 stipend for Debbie Lund to serve as Lead Teacher/Mentor Teacher for the coming year (motion by Tammy Herrera, second Pam Adams; Passed 5-0). The board also approved hiring Magdalena (Magdelena) Baker as a part-time custodian for SY25—26 (motion by Tammy Herrera, second Leanne Donason; Passed 5-0).
The board approved the Administration Evaluation Tool for SY25—26 (motion by Pam Adams, second Tammy Herrera; Passed 5-0). Revisions to the Student and Parent Handbook and the Employee Handbook for SY25—26 were approved by recorded motions (each Passed 5-0). The board approved the Cyber Incident Plan and Media Response Plan for SY25—26 (motion by Valerie Grimes, second Pam Adams) and approved the Emergency Operations Plan (motion by Tammy Herrera, second Valerie Grimes); minutes show each of these motions as Passed 5-0.
The board also discussed a large group of ASBA policy advisories spanning advisory numbers in the 700s, 800s and 800s/900s ranges and set a special meeting for July 14, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. to continue review and possible adoption of the remaining policy advisories listed in the agenda.
The meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m.; the minutes record the adjournment as Passed 4-0 and note that Brian Wright—s internet connection was out and he was dismissed from the meeting.
