Berlin Central board elects officers, approves consent items and enters executive session

The Berlin Central School District board conducted its reorganizational business at the July 2 meeting before proceeding to the regular agenda.
The board took nominations and elected Katie Murder as board president; the district administered the oath and Murder assumed the chair. Frick Wack was nominated and approved as vice president in a subsequent roll-call vote. The district clerk administered the required oaths for officers.
The board approved consent agenda appointments (items 8A–RR) and action items (9A–Z) by motion and roll-call vote; meeting minutes from June 16 were also approved (recorded as six yes and one abstain). During the consent discussions board members asked questions about surplus equipment and recycling revenue for auctions; the board discussed recycling and scrapping of older electronics, including monitors, servers, iPads and smartboards.
After routine business, the board heard presentations and public‑meeting items, then moved to enter executive session to discuss personnel matters and to receive legal counsel; the chair said no action was anticipated after the executive session.
