River Ridge board accepts resignation of Supervisor James Gilman and solicits candidates

Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and the board discussed next steps for filling the unexpired seat by appointment. Board members asked staff to notify The Meadows community, have Mr. Long and the POA manager e‑blast residents, and include candidate qualification requirements, required ethics training materials and a list of documents (oath of office, Form 1 instructions, Form 8B guidance) in the appointment packet. The board clarified this will be an appointment to fill the seat, not an election.
The board voted unanimously to accept the resignation. Staff said they will include submitted resumes or letters of interest on the next meeting agenda for consideration.
