Gosper County recommends 4% wage increase for FY2026–27 and limits budget requests to 4%

During the June 30 meeting Clerk Karen Corder and Treasurer Nicole Towsend asked the Board for recommendations to county officials and department heads for the FY2026–27 budget. After discussion the Board recommended a 4% wage increase, effective Jan. 1, 2026, and that total budget requests be limited to no more than a 4% increase (motion by Chair Terry Lerdall, second by Commissioner Bruce Bader). Commissioner Glenn Hofman was recorded absent for the vote; the motion carried.
The recommendation will be provided to county officials and department heads as guidance for preparing their budget requests for the upcoming fiscal year. The Board recessed for lunch at noon and reconvened later in the day to take up the Board of Equalization and other items.
