Gosper County approves new-location replacement for Johnson Lake Inlet Bridge and selects iWorQ for road management

The Gosper County Board on June 30 approved a bridge replacement design for the Johnson Lake Inlet Bridge and moved forward on several road-management items.
Alex Lindenstein of Oak Creek Engineering presented five design options for the approaches to the Johnson Lake Inlet Bridge and asked the Board to select a preferred design. The Board approved Option 5 — replace the bridge in a new location with an intersection on the south end — noting the county is responsible for the bridge approaches (motion by Chair Terry Lerdall; second by Commissioner Bruce Bader). The motion passed on a unanimous roll call.
Highway Superintendent Kelly Lehmann reported that construction of Road 749A was completed and the road opened to the public on June 26, 2026. Lehmann said the project required approximately 2,990 labor hours, 19,600 cubic yards of dirt hauled, and 137,700 gallons of water hauled.
Robert Warner presented replacement options for the county's road and bridge software, citing iWorQ, STAR, SchneiderGIS and MIPS. Lehmann and Warner recommended iWorQ because it is web-based and meets the department's needs. The Board approved entering into a contract with iWorQ pending County Attorney review (motion by Lerdall, second by Hofman).
