Gosper County awards gravel contract to Paulsen, Inc. at $12.06 per ton

The Gosper County Board of Commissioners on June 30 accepted a bid from Paulsen, Inc. to supply gravel to county roads at $12.06 per ton for the contract period of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
Highway Superintendent Kelly Lehmann held the gravel bid letting with bidders present. Paulsen, Inc. of Cozad submitted the low bid of $12.06 per ton; Overton Sand & Gravel Co. bid $12.20 per ton. After discussion the Board voted to accept Paulsen's bid (motion by Commissioner Bruce Bader, second by Chair Terry Lerdall). The roll call vote was recorded “Aye” from Lerdall, Bader and Hofman; the motion carried.
The contract stipulates that a performance bond must be provided, calculated based on an estimated 22,400 tons of gravel to be delivered under the contract. Highway Department staff will administer delivery and invoicing under the terms approved by the Board. The bid opening and award were recorded during the Board's regular session at the Gosper County Courthouse.
