River Ridge board approves temporary electrical 'zombie box' for lake aerator after 3-2 vote

Operations Manager Shane Willis reviewed Premier Lakes’ one-time work order and a revised Bentley Electric proposal that would add about 125 feet of electrical work and carry an estimated relocation cost of $10,755. Some board members suggested deferring the relocation cost to the proposed Fiscal Year 2026 budget and instead installing a temporary zombie box now. On motion by Mr. Schultz and seconded by Mr. Twombly, the board approved installing a zombie box for $3,098. The motion passed with Mr. Schultz, Mr. Twombly and Mr. Merrill voting in favor and Mr. Mountford and Mr. Blumenthal dissenting.
The board’s approval directs staff to proceed with the temporary electrical installation and revisit the full relocation proposal during future budget discussions. No amendments to the motion were recorded.
