Board approves grant‑writing contracts for Stanford Street Park and Barber Drive drainage; greenways grant application tabled

Township consultant Mr. Hart told the board the township has engaged Remington/Bick Engineers to prepare and submit grant applications for two infrastructure projects.
For Stanford Street Park, Mr. Hart described a $5,810 proposal to pursue a $250,000 state grant for field improvements that would include new lights and an infield with turf and drainage; he said the grant application would include a 15% local match. The board moved, seconded and approved authorization to contract for grant‑writing services.
Hart also reviewed a Remington/Bick proposal (fee not to exceed $6,735) to apply for comprehensive drainage improvements in the Barber Drive area. He said the township public works department does many projects in‑house but that this drainage project is larger than staff resources allow; the consultant reported this application requires no local match. Board members asked about the precise project limits (Manchester Road, Nottingham and between Denise and Northampton were named during discussion) and voted to approve the contract.
Separately, Resolution 2937—another Greenways/Trails/Recreation grant item tied to related park projects—was tabled because a board member said the exact numbers for the third related item were not available; the board voted to table that resolution pending clarification.
