The Fraser Board of Education on April 22 approved a slate of personnel actions, adopted an insurance contribution resolution under 2011 PA 152 and named an auditor for the 2023–24 fiscal year.
The board unanimously approved the minutes of its April 8 meeting and then approved personnel motions. On a motion by Daniel Stawinski, supported by Rebecca Jensen, the board hired Andrea Anderson as Culinary/Fashion Design Lab Technician at Fraser High School, effective April 9, 2024. The board accepted retirements for Michael Clark, Printer at the administration building, effective April 30, 2024 (employed since Oct. 7, 1987), and for Daniel Waters, Assistant Superintendent of Safety, Facilities & Transportation, effective April 17, 2024 (employed since June 20, 2011). The board also accepted the resignation of David Foley, custodian at Salk Elementary, effective April 26, 2024.
The board adopted, by unanimous vote, a resolution declaring an 80%/20% insurance contribution election under 2011 PA 152 after a motion by Rebecca Jensen and support from Robyn Norbeck. The board also appointed Buss & Company, P.C. as auditors for Fraser Public Schools for the year ending June 30, 2024 on a motion by Kathleen Moco supported by Abigail Wasil.
The board voted to move into closed session at the end of the meeting to discuss negotiations under Section 8c of the Open Meetings Act; the motion by Abigail Wasil and second by Daniel Stawinski carried on a roll call vote listing Ayes: Kathleen Moco, Robyn Norbeck, Scott Wallace, Rebecca Jensen, Abigail Wasil and Daniel Stawinski.
