Forest Hills Foundation says 5K raised more than $200,000; teacher and district grant cycles to open

The Forest Hills Foundation reported that its 17th annual Forest Hills 5K raised more than $200,000, exceeding a goal of $180,000 and increasing funds available for teacher and district grants.
Lana Hail, the foundation’s communications director, said the next round of district grants will be issued this summer and teacher grants will be open soon, with application deadlines pushed to late August or early September to give educators a break during the summer. The foundation also plans student‑led grants in early 2027 and is accepting nominations for Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Staff events scheduled for Oct. 1 and the following evening at Anderson High School.
Hail asked the community to submit nomination forms via the foundation website (fhf.org) and noted that the fundraiser proceeds are intended to support classroom grants and opportunities across the district.
