Board hears progress report on Lake Wylie High and Liberty Hill construction

Dr. Hopkins provided the operations update and walked the board through progress photos and a short video showing interior work at Lake Wylie High and Liberty Hill Elementary.
For Lake Wylie High, Hopkins described flooring, doors, terrazzo pours in the cafeteria, canopy work at the bus loading area, science lab casework and athletic-area installations. He said polishing, finishes and final furniture deliveries remain before opening day. "We're really close here," Hopkins said, summarizing interior punch-list work.
Liberty Hill is also progressing: roofing and metal cladding are being installed, playground deliveries were scheduled and terrazzo had begun in kindergarten corridors. Hopkins told the board that New Idea is the vendor for furniture and that deliveries are expected to begin May 11 for the high school and by the end of May for Liberty Hill. He said there are "no red flags in terms of schedule at this point."
Board members were offered site-visit sign-ups and an upcoming stakeholders' meeting was noted for Contract Construction. No formal action was required; the briefing served as an informational project update.
