He said the district is working with Pinnacle and the commission to create pathways that could allow seniors to sit for licensing exams shortly after graduation and to use reciprocity when moving to other states.
A student in the program, Abby, told the board the district covered the online 30‑hour course for her so she could pursue licensing even though she plans to attend college in Utah. "The school is willing to pay for that online 30 hour class…that was like made my day," she said.
Mr. Ruth said the courses include standard commission‑approved content (60 and 30 hours) and that students meeting age and graduation requirements will follow the real‑estate commission’s fingerprinting, background and exam process. The district noted this is an early pilot and said state commission staff and the commission chair are supporting classroom visits and a field trip.
No formal regulatory change was made at the work session; the board reviewed and approved the local course offerings required by district policy for new board‑approved courses.
