Board hears construction progress, approves personnel policies and auditor appointment

Facilities director Dr. Hopkins updated trustees on interior and exterior work at both Lake Wy High School and Liberty Hill Elementary, showing interior finishes, AV and sound installs and exterior cladding progress. He told the board the district expects Liberty Hill occupancy by June 1 and Lake Wy occupancy by July 1, with limited early access to some high-school wings for storage as early as late April. "We're going to have access to these buildings in the time stated in the contract," he said.

Following the facilities update, Miss Sauls presented two policy items for second reading: updated language on drug-and-alcohol-free schools and clarified language for professional leaves and absences. "Based on our last discussion there were no additional changes that were needed to be made," she said; the board approved policies GBC and GCC without objection.

Later in the meeting Mr. Love summarized the district’s finance position (a seasonal deficit pending January tax receipts) and asked trustees to approve Green Finny Collie LLP as the district auditors for 2026; the board approved the auditor appointment without objection.
