Select Board approves payroll and vendor warrants, a temporary liquor license and minutes; accepts police resignation and moves to executive session

The Northfield Select Board handled routine financial and personnel business at its April 28 meeting, voting to approve payroll and vendor warrants, grant a one-day liquor license, accept a resignation, approve minutes and then enter executive session.
On motions by Bernard Boudreau (seconded by Dan Campbell), the board approved the 4/29/26 payroll warrant for $107,392.30 and the vendor warrant for $191,527.10. The board also voted to approve a One Day Temporary Liquor License requested by David Capriati of The Beer Guy LLC for a private grand-opening event at the Greenfield Cooperative Bank on May 13, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m.; the liquor-license motion was made by Bernard Boudreau and seconded by David McCarthy.
The board voted to approve the April 14, 2026 meeting minutes (the record notes a date correction to April 15). The board acknowledged receipt of a letter of resignation from part-time police officer Dale Brown, who intends to take a full-time private-security position in town.
Later in the meeting the board voted to enter executive session at 7:05 p.m. under MGL Chapter 30A §21(a)(7) "to comply with or act under the authority of any general or special law" and did not return to open session; the roll-call vote recorded five 'yes' votes (Campbell, McCarthy, Boudreau, Jacque and Kerns).
