Morrow council approves elevator maintenance contract for Angel Creek

The Morrow City Council unanimously approved May 26 an agreement with Georgia Lift Solutions, Inc., to provide maintenance, inspection and 24-hour emergency response services for the elevator at Angel Creek, 5900 Reynolds Road.
The Public Works Director told the council the agreement covers warranty services, a maintenance package, and round-the-clock emergency call response; the city noted that a service contract of this nature is required by the state for elevator permitting. Contract rates for standard mechanic labor, holiday hours and emergency calls were summarized in the proposal.
Councilwoman Lana J. Labay moved to approve the agreement and Councilwoman Hue Nguyen seconded; the motion carried with all council members voting aye.
Next steps: Staff will finalize and execute the contract and proceed with any required permitting and inspections under state rules.
