Hebron reports hydrant repairs, smoke-testing violations and upcoming Ohio EPA survey

Village Administrator Jung-Han Chen told Council on Sept. 25 that hydrant flushing completed two weeks earlier identified about 13 hydrants that need repair or replacement and four hydrants that are not in service; some replacements will coincide with Broadway Street water-line work. Backflow inspections are underway and letters have been sent to businesses.
Chen reported that sewer-line smoke testing conducted the prior day revealed about 14 minor violations and one illegal connection; staff said inflow-and-infiltration issues will be addressed. The village noted Ohio EPA will be at the Water Treatment Plant Oct. 17'18 to perform a survey.
