Screening committee recommends two finalists; Select Board schedules interviews July 6

Aaron, chair of the town manager screening committee, told the Select Board that the committee conducted a rigorous review of applicants with multiple panel-style interviews and deliberations and unanimously recommended two finalists for consideration.

Aaron credited the committee’s membership — which included town staff, a school committee representative, finance committee and resident participants — and noted the process involved multiple long meetings, document reviews and candidate interviews that lasted up to two hours. He said the goal was to identify candidates with experience, vision and leadership to build on the town’s strengths.

The Select Board agreed to hold public interviews of the two finalists on Monday, July 6, starting at 5:00 p.m. in the Select Board chamber; both candidates had confirmed availability as of 5:30 p.m. the night of the Select Board meeting. The board will conduct candidate interviews followed by deliberations; members were told documentation would be provided to them no later than the posting preceding the meeting.
