Hampton seeks proposals for IT managed services and public safety facility design

Hampton Township Council authorized advertisements for two Requests for Proposals at its May 27 meeting: one for a Managed Service Provider to supply information technology and cybersecurity services and one for architectural services for the township’s planned Public Safety Facility.
Manager Ryan Jeroski told the council the township’s previous IT contract has expired and the RFP will establish labor rates that could be used on larger capital projects. On the facility, he said the building will house the Fire Department and SHEMS; $75,000 is budgeted for design work in 2026 but overall project costs are expected to be substantially higher in 2027 when construction preparation ramps up. Because architectural services are professional services, staff noted the township is not bound to accept the lowest bid.
Both authorizations passed on motions from Mr. Sciulli and second seconds (IT RFP: Mr. Midgley seconded; architectural RFP: Ms. Blackburn seconded) with unanimous roll call votes.
Next steps: staff will publish the RFP specifications and return to council with proposals and a recommendation for award. Council did not approve a design contract or specific construction funding during the meeting.
