York Council approves multiple equipment and services contracts, including Laserfish records system and HDR engineering

The City of York council approved multiple routine procurement and contract items during its Nov. 6 meeting, voting on furniture and vehicle purchases, a multi-year records-management subscription and an engineering services task order for the York Area Solid Waste Authority (YASWA).

Council approved a $32,622 quote from Corn Husker Industries to furnish the new fire station and a state-bid purchase through Anderson Auto Group for a 2026 Ford F-250 designated for the fire department as part of the new stationproject; both items were presented as budgeted and received unanimous roll-call approval.

The council also approved a 60-month subscription with Laserfish Cloud for digital records management, described in the meeting as a total contract of $26,940 with annual payments of $5,388. Staff explained Laserfish provides structural document organization, retention-policy automation and multi-building access and that it supplements, but does not replace, the cityexisting Carbonite daily backup.

York Equipmentprovided a quote of $37,269 for a Bobcat track loader for the street department; staff said the track loader causes less damage to turf than the prior equipment and that a trade-in reduced net cost. That item passed on roll call.

Separately, Council approved Task Order 46 with HDR Engineering for YASWA annual engineering services at $200,000 (split $100,000 capital for landfill cell engineering and $100,000 for general engineering). Staff said HDR has been a long-term engineering partner on the project and the cost was included in the budget.

All the procurement items were described by staff as budgeted or part of the capital plan; each item was moved, seconded and approved by roll call during the meeting.
