Council to revise Internal Controls language; continues review of Health Insurance Fund balance

Council Member Michael Yaklich said he had several notations; staff will integrate council comments and present the updated policy for review at the first council meeting in February.
The council also held a brief discussion about the Health Insurance Fund balance, describing a minimum fund balance as a necessary cushion. City staff will continue discussions with insurance consultants and bring further recommendations back to the council at a future meeting.
No formal action to adopt policy changes or alter the insurance fund was taken at this meeting; both items remain under staff review and scheduled for follow-up.
