The Kings Mountain City Council on April 2 unanimously appointed Councilmember Heather Lemmond as the city's voting delegate to the North Carolina League of Municipalities' 2026-27 Board of Directors.
City Clerk Karen Tucker told the council that the League's bylaws allow each member municipality to designate one voting delegate to consider the nominating committee's proposed slate and that the designation must be completed before April 13, 2026. The clerk asked the council to name its delegate so the information could be reported to the League before that deadline.
Councilmember Jimmy West moved the appointment and Councilmember Annie Thombs seconded. The council voted unanimously to appoint Councilmember Heather Lemmond. No discussion beyond the clerk's explanation was recorded.
The council did not record additional debate on the item; the clerk will report the designation to the League prior to the April 13 deadline.
