City Administrator Dr. Coffer told the council the city will host two public Plan York design workshops next week — a Wednesday evening session from 5 to 7 p.m. at the library and a Thursday noon session — and that the plan’s online survey on planyork.com will remain open through Sept. 15.
"Well, you may have noticed something different when you drove in tonight...we have our design workshops coming up next week," Dr. Coffer said, noting the city’s consultant, RDG, will bring a landscape architect to the sessions and that a Spanish-speaking facilitator will be present. He said staff are also scheduling outreach with special-focus groups, including a session with 50 high-school students and conversations on the New York University campus and at Corteva during lunch hours. The facilitator for some outreach will speak Spanish and Portuguese.
Dr. Coffer encouraged residents to use the online map and leave comments about what they would like to see in the space. He said survey results will be collected through Sept. 15 so consultants can include public input in the project report.
