Ocean City council elects Terry Crowley president, Dave Winslow vice president; consent agenda passes unanimously

The Ocean City Council held its reorganization business on July 1, electing Terry Crowley as council president and Dave Winslow as vice president for one-year terms by unanimous roll-call votes. The council then approved the consent agenda in a single motion and proceeded to public comment before adjourning.

City Clerk Melissa Rasner opened the reorganization meeting, called the roll and recorded attendance. Terry Crowley was nominated for council president, which received a second; a roll call recorded votes of yes from Mr. Barnes, Mr. Crowley, Mr. Hartzell, Mr. Kelly, Mr. Lovechuk, Mr. Pchini and Mr. Winslow.

Dave Winslow was nominated and seconded for vice president and similarly received unanimous approval in the roll-call vote.

After council president Crowley assumed the chair, the mayor and administration reported briefly and the council moved and approved the consent agenda as routine business. The roll call on the consent agenda recorded every member as voting "yes." No items were removed from the consent list for separate consideration.

The meeting opened a public-comment period during which Ed O'Donnell urged expanded fitness amenities at the community center (including a whirlpool and steam bath), recommended easing worker stress, and called for stricter cigarette enforcement. Following public comment, a motion to adjourn was moved and seconded and the meeting concluded.

All formal roll-call tallies taken during the reorganization were unanimous; the transcript did not record any abstentions, recusals or votes against the listed motions.
