Village Administrator Richter provided a series of public-works and planning updates at the Aug. 25 council meeting, outlining schedules and next steps for several projects.
Richter said the one-year warranty walk with Brenneman Excavating at Plum Street reconstruction is complete and a punch list is being compiled. He told the council that the contractor for Vine and Park Street reconstruction (PAB) expects to complete storm-sewer work in the next two weeks and then begin curb preparation; project completion is estimated Oct. 17.
On subdivision work, Richter reported Cardinal phase 3 has water, storm and sanitary lines installed and curbs poured, with paving planned for the following week and NB Electric being set. For Herman Street, Richter said repaving will begin with milling on Sept. 4 and paving is planned for Sept. 16–19.
Separately, Richter announced that Auglaize County Commissioners will hold a public informational meeting at 7 p.m. on Aug. 28 at the New Bremen Municipal Building to discuss a proposed one-half of one percent sales and use tax continuation effective April 1, 2026.
The minutes record these as informational updates; no formal votes on the projects or the county tax measure were taken at the council meeting.
