Jameson, Loranger and OOB High School report PBIS work, events and testing schedules

Barbara Fletcher said Jameson School's PBIS team is planning Monday assemblies on themes such as friendship, diversity and empathy, and is organizing monthly "Time with Teachers." Jameson PLCs are meeting to address positive school culture and instructional needs.
Loranger School reported second-quarter awards for grades 6–8, participation by about a dozen students in the York County Junior High Music Festival, and planned student events including a Kids Night Out for grades 4–5 and a middle-school dance. The Loranger Interact Club and Student Council, in partnership with OOB 365, will host a "Just for Kids Carnival" during school vacation on Feb. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Loranger PTO is running two fundraisers: an app-based Shoparoo program and a flowerpowerfundraising.com campaign.
At OOB High School, John Suttie said teachers are aligning instruction to assessment expectations. The high school's Smarter Balanced testing schedule is Language Arts May 12–14, Science May 6, and Math May 19–21; the SAT will be offered at the high school on April 15 at no cost to any junior who wishes to take it. NEASC accreditation work was postponed due to snow and rescheduled for March 3, and a coffee with the principal will be held Feb. 25 to discuss the new mission and vision statements.
Board discussion included brief, preliminary conversation about possibly moving 3rd grade to Loranger for space reasons in 2015–16; no formal decision was recorded.
