Chief Anderson told commissioners the department had completed a captains promotional list of two employees that must be maintained under merit law even though there are currently no captain vacancies. "We just need to approve that list of two employees tonight," Chief Anderson said, asking the commission to adopt the list so it remains active.
Dan Bridget moved to approve the consent agenda "as read," and Brick Keltner seconded. Randy Vanderbush conducted the roll call vote: Robin Brandgard, Dan Bridget, Gary Everling, Brick Keltner and Randy Vanderbush all voted yes, resulting in a unanimous approval. The promotion of Brack Hildebrand takes effect April 27, 2026, with a one-year probationary period, and the captains promotional list is effective April 7, 2026.
The commission did not discuss other policy items during the vote. President Gary Everling said the board had a quorum for the evening and closed the consent portion of the meeting before moving to awards and recognition.
