Chief Jake Flaherty presented the village's proposed apparatus replacement plan, describing an operational change that would use a new unit numbered 504 for vehicle-accident responses while repurposing the new 510 for water-rescue and fire response.
Flaherty said the change would be a major operational adjustment for the department; board members asked for more information on the proposal and asked staff to return with additional details at a future meeting. No formal motion or vote on equipment procurement or funding was recorded at the Dec. 4 meeting.
Administrator Nick Leonard and department staff were asked to provide follow-up information; the board did not take action and did not set a firm deadline for the requested information.
