Board reviews policy updates, recognizes teachers and advances academic priorities

The board also recognized RCS Teachers of the Year and buildings honored by Capturing Kids Hearts; academic staff reported Little Inventors participation across the MISD (about 2,400 students), with 14 ideas moving toward prototypes and four originating from Romeo. Secondary updates included the Bulldog Fun Fest and a Changemaker pilot; the minutes record that 41 students attended a Summa Cum Laude dinner for 4.0 GPAs and that a resolution was approved to certify 503 graduates for 2026.
The board approved Group 3 leadership priorities for 2026–27, which add Early Elementary Paraprofessional support and a Game Manager position in the athletics department. The minutes indicate staff in newly authorized positions were notified, as stated by Dr. Robinson.
No curriculum changes requiring immediate board action were recorded; the minutes state CKLA had been previously approved and that policy 3003 (Instruction) therefore required no further board action.
