Tory Parks, representing the Onslow County Public Library System, said the library system is running an exceptionally full summer schedule with more than 167 programs across branches and age groups. "We are going to be absolutely so busy," Parks said, noting programming at every branch.
Parks highlighted a birthday bash for America 250 at the Swansboro branch on July 15 at 3 p.m., and a visit from the Aurora Fossil Museum at the main branch on July 27 at 4 p.m. She said both events do not require preregistration; however, Parks reminded viewers that some branches (Jacksonville and Sneads Ferry) use SignUpGenius for events that do require reservations while Richlands and Swansboro accept phone or in-person registration.
The library is promoting its events on social media platforms including TikTok and Facebook and via a monthly newsletter and branch calendars. Parks encouraged residents to check branch listings or the library website for details and to plan ahead because many programs are popular and branches can become busy.
Parks said the programming aims to engage all ages and communities across the county and invited residents to take advantage of the library’s offerings during the summer quarter.
