Laketown — The Laketown Town Council voted to adopt the 2026-27 fiscal year budget (Resolution 2026-04) at its June 3 meeting, following a public hearing at which no members of the public commented.
Mayor Brandon Willis opened the budget hearing at 6:04 p.m. and closed it at 6:05 p.m. After routine agenda business, Council Member Kirsten Gash moved to approve Resolution 2026-04; Council Member Denise Johnson seconded the motion and the council recorded the motion as passing unanimously.
The council also approved the May bills and the May 6 minutes (with a correction of 'Myer' to 'Myers') in the same meeting. Clerk Lisa noted the fiscal-year invoice cutoff is June 23, and said she would complete year-end closeout procedures after that date.
Why it matters: The adopted budget sets Laketown’s spending priorities for the coming fiscal year and enables staff to finalize year-end accounting. The council recorded no public objections during the hearing and made no changes to the proposed budget in open session.
