Henry County commissioners approve contracts, grants and payouts; votes at a glance

Jason Craig of the Henry County Health Department received approval to add new testing services and fees. Commissioners approved a Local Match grant affidavit (2016-110) for Neal's Custom Exterior for $4,445 and an interlocal patch-mix agreement with Blountsville.
A personnel item from the Sheriff's Office drew procedural attention: Matron Anne Bankson's retirement payouts were discussed. The board initially approved multiple payouts including a 2022 comp-time payment but then rescinded that comp-time payout and approved vacation payouts and other amounts as recorded; the final approved payout amounts were included in the meeting record.
County Attorney Joel Harvey told the board the county has an obligation to provide an alternative during a temporary closure of the handicap entrance while tile work is performed, which Auditor Debra Walker said could last up to a week in July.
