Cameron Parish School Board elects Telesha Bertrand president, adopts conduct code and recognizes School Board Month

At its Jan. 13 meeting the Cameron Parish School Board elected Telesha Bertrand president and Vickie Kiffe vice president, adopted the LSBA Code of Conduct, and proclaimed January 2025 as School Board Recognition Month; training hours for members were also confirmed.
The Cameron Parish School Board on Jan. 13 reorganized its leadership, elected officers and adopted governance guidance.
On a motion by Joseph Delcambre seconded by Marsha Trahan, the board elected Telesha Bertrand as board president. On a subsequent motion by Delcambre, seconded by Randall Faulk, the board elected Vickie Kiffe as vice president. The board then approved the meeting agenda, the Dec. 2, 2024 minutes and payment of bills during routine business.
The board approved adoption of the LSBA Code of Conduct for Louisiana school board members following a motion by Sharon Picou, seconded by Randall Faulk. The board also adopted a local resolution declaring January 2025 as School Board Recognition Month and received confirmation of 2024 training hours earned by each member, with the record noting certified school board member recognition for the year.
The actions were recorded in the official minutes. The board adjourned after the superintendent delivered his report.
