Clinton board accepts department reports, declares several vehicles and equipment surplus and notes sewer pond contractor

Mayor Kemp summarized maintenance work completed in May, including sewer repairs, meter replacements and street pothole work; aldermen accepted the maintenance report.
Accountant Tim Butler reported the utility fund increased by roughly $10,000, bringing the balance to about $163,000, and said the street/sidewalk/bridge/sewer repair fund remained under $400,000 after recent repairs. The board accepted the accountant's report.
The board declared multiple items surplus with starting values recorded in the minutes: a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 (starting $500); a Ditch Witch Trencher Model 3610 (starting $2,000, inspection by Alderman Matthews allowed); a Broce Broom (starting $2,000, inspection allowed); a Lagoon Harvester (starting $5,000); and a JCB M7 Series tractor/front loader/backhoe (starting $10,000). Separate motions were moved and passed for each item.
The minutes also note Mitchell Contracting Corp. was awarded the sewer pond bid and is currently working on the project. The meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
Next steps: surplus items will be processed per town procedures; contract work on the sewer pond will continue under the awarded contractor.
