Mayor Mark L. Kemp reported an updated schedule for the Town of Clinton’s sewer pond project (PEC #11795.07) at the July 8 meeting, saying most of the electrical infrastructure has been installed and underground conduits and a slab for electrical panels at the lift station are in place.
Kemp said he has been communicating with Tony Arco of PEC and that the town is waiting on equipment shipments: baffles and curtains from JPS are expected the week of Aug. 14, and aerators from E‑Tex are expected to arrive Nov. 11. Kemp said Mitchell Corporation will provide an updated construction schedule and resume on-site work once the equipment arrives.
Alderman Matthews moved to accept the information presented by the mayor; Alderman Betrece seconded and the motion passed. The action did not include a roll-call tally in the minutes; the motion was recorded as "passed."
The project update clarifies sequencing for remaining work: electrical panels will be installed on a poured slab by the lift station and equipment deliveries will trigger Mitchell Corporation to continue installation. No new contract amounts, change orders or funding authorizations were recorded in the minutes.
The board did not set a new completion date beyond the equipment arrival estimates. The council accepted the update and asked for Mitchell Corporation’s revised schedule once the shipments are confirmed.
