District officials on Nov. 12 told the Claiborne Parish School Board that college and career readiness programs expanded this year and that students are earning both college credit and industry credentials.
Kelli Tims, secondary instructional supervisor, described testing and remediation plans and named dual‑enrollment partners: Grambling State University, Louisiana Tech University and Northwestern State University. Tims said 73 students are enrolled in dual‑enrollment college courses and nine seniors are on track to earn an associate degree by May 2025. She also reported partnerships with Northwest Louisiana Technical College for CNA, Industrial Instrumentation and Welding programs that currently enroll 17 students who have earned industry‑based certifications.
Marco French, elementary instructional supervisor, summarized writing instruction, Tier I curriculum, lesson planning, tutoring, interventions and professional development for elementary classrooms and listed district awards used to recognize teachers and students.
Board members posed questions during the accountability overview. The minutes do not record any formal actions tied to these program reports. The board adjourned after presentations.
