The Cameron Parish School Board completed routine business and received district updates at its Dec. 1, 2025 meeting.
The meeting opened with prayer and the pledge led by Joseph Delcambre and R. Mitchell Kelley; the board approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Marsha Trahan. The board then approved the Nov. 10, 2025 minutes (motion by Sharon Picou, second by R. Mitchell Kelley) and approved payment of bills (motion by Marsha Trahan, second by R. Mitchell Kelley); these financial items were presented by Mrs. Hayes.
The Board received the Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments and a monthly property income report prepared by Michael Cassidy of the Cameron Parish District Attorney’s Office. District staff and the project management firm (Hoffpauir Architects, LLC) provided updates on current construction bid activities and on FEMA, CDBG and General Fund construction, repairs and renovations to permanent and temporary sites. The project update noted that at this time there were no projects to be bid, none out for bid and no bid awards to approve.
On a motion by Sharon Picou, seconded by Joseph Delcambre, the board approved the 2026 meeting schedule with dates from January through December 2026. The meeting adjourned on a motion by Sharon Picou, seconded by Marsha Trahan.
