Board approves medication policy allowing life‑saving drugs in emergencies and selects compensation option

The Cameron Parish School Board on Oct. 13 approved revisions to Policy JGCD (Administration of Medication) to add language allowing administration of life‑saving medication in medical emergencies. The revision was presented by the superintendent and approved on motion of Mrs. Labove, seconded by Mrs. Trahan.
Separately, the board approved option #2 for disbursing the 2025/2026 differentiated compensation allocation authorized by state legislation. The superintendent presented the options and the board selected option #2 on motion of R. Mitchell Kelley, seconded by Mrs. Labove. The board also received proposed revisions to Policy JBE (Truancy) for review but did not take final action on JBE at this meeting.
