The Beaufort County Planning Commission completed its annual officer elections on Feb. 24, naming Charlie Whitmore chair, Jim Flynn vice chair and Will Howard as the commission's Development Review Committee representative.
Commissioners said the election is typically held in January but the commission had no meeting in December or January, so the annual slate was resolved at this meeting. Nominations were made from the floor, seconded and approved without recorded opposition.
The chair and vice chair positions will continue to preside over commission meetings and represent the commission in coordination with staff; Will Howard will serve as the commission’s rotating DRC member for the year. No public comment was offered during the meeting and commissioners moved on to new business after the votes.
