CMS Building Committee approves multiple change-order credits, authorizes $315,172.34 in invoices

The Cromwell Middle School Building Committee on June 17 unanimously approved several change orders and authorized payment of project invoices, the committee reported.
Emily Sifuentes, a project representative, told the committee the Owner's Contingency for the CMS project stands at $1,663,500.52, with a separate Central Office contingency of $81,278.66. The committee then approved the following change orders as presented: Change Order #18 (credit of $8,203.73), Change Order #19 (credit of $1,005,904.52), Change Order #20 (credit of $46,839.46), Change Order #10 (credit of $3,410.88) and Change Order #11 (credit of $873.00). Motions and seconds were recorded for each item and each vote was unanimous.
Committee members also voted to approve invoices from Newfield Construction and Arcadis for a total of $315,172.34; Ken Jackson made the motion and Matt Blanchette seconded. The votes on the change orders and invoices were recorded as unanimous.
Committee Chair Shannon Hughes-Brown and project representatives said the change-order credits were presented by Arcadis staff for committee action; no member asked for further documentation during the meeting. The approvals reduce contract obligations on the record and leave the stated Owner's Contingency balances as reported at the meeting.
The committee had no further business and adjourned at 7:53 p.m.
