Council approves consent agenda items, audit of bills and payroll

Councilors Green and Stavig moved to approve Consent Agenda items #2 through #6 and authorized the Mayor to sign the necessary documents; the motion carried. Items on the consent agenda included a Teamsters Local 231 Public Works Division MOU extension, a revised intergovernmental agreement with WMD, and appointments of Sutherland Staatz to the Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees and David Lowell and Gary Nelson to the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board.
Earlier in the meeting Councilor Scott Green reported from the Audit & Finance meeting and, together with Councilor Freeman, moved to approve Accounts Payable invoices to be paid as of Feb. 26, 2026, in the amount of $596,519.90 and payroll expenses for the pay period ending Feb. 15, 2026, in the amount of $943,433.68. Council briefly discussed a Skagit River Park dirt purchase during the Audit & Finance update. All motions were adopted by voice vote; the transcript records "All in favor; motion carried." No roll-call tallies were transcribed.
The meeting also recorded a motion to excuse Councilor Joe DeGloria, which carried.
