Board approves May expenditures, updates Beaver Island Tower funding and authorizes blight grant application

At its June 10 meeting the Charlevoix County Board of Commissioners approved the consent agenda (6-0) which included a correction to the May 27, 2026 minutes reflecting a $1 million updated funding amount for the Beaver Island Tower project, and approved a monthly resolution for county expenditures. The board also adopted Resolution 26-048 approving May county expenditures totaling $1,279,323.74 as recommended by the Audit Committee.
The board later authorized the Charlevoix County Sheriff to apply for Grand Traverse Band 2% funding to support blight cleanup and authorized the chairman to sign required documents (Resolution 26-052). Commissioner Joshua Chamberlain moved the blight grant authorization and Commissioner Robert Jess seconded; the motion carried on a 6-0 voice vote.
