White Cloud council approves November expenditures, adopts 2026 schedules and authorizes two grant applications

On Dec. 2 the City of White Cloud council adopted November expenditures, set 2026 council meeting and employee holiday calendars, and authorized grant applications to the Michigan Infrastructure Office TAC and MDARD; council also approved a community Christmas event and appointed a ZBA member.
At its regular meeting on Dec. 2, 2025, the White Cloud City Council adopted a set of resolutions covering city expenditures, the 2026 meeting calendar, employee holidays and two grant applications.
Resolution 2025-35 approved city expenditures for November 2025. The minutes list payroll of $20,211.00 and claims of $118,533.06; the packet records a monthly total shown as $118,533.06. Resolution 2025-36 set the council’s regular meeting dates for 2026, and Resolution 2025-37 set the 2026 employee holiday schedule. All three resolutions passed on recorded motions with roll-call votes (Jeff Murchison marked absent at the time of the votes).
The council also adopted Resolution 2025-38 authorizing submission of a Michigan Infrastructure Office Technical Assistance Center (MIO TAC) Pre-development Project Accelerator Pilot Program application and Resolution 2025-39 authorizing submission of an MDARD Rural Development Grant application for infrastructure development and capacity-building. Minutes record motions to authorize staff to submit the grant applications; roll-call votes were recorded as Ayes-All with Murchison absent.
Additional actions included council approval of a Special Events application for Christmas in White Cloud scheduled Dec. 13, 2025, and the appointment of Joe Fox to the Zoning Board of Appeals to fill a vacant seat expiring Dec. 31, 2027. The meeting packet also included department reports and correspondence from the WC Area Fire Department and River Country Chamber.
