At its Oct. 7 meeting the White Cloud City Council appointed Mark Huff to the White Cloud Community Library Board to fill the seat left vacant by the passing of Christine Tiernan; the appointment fills the term through June 30, 2027. Lori Shears moved the appointment and Amy Barnhard seconded; the motion carried without recorded opposition.
Council also voted unanimously to dissolve the City Parks & Recreation Board after staff reported the advisory board had not met for more than eight months, the North Street ballfields are transitioning to ownership by the White Cloud Public Schools, and the city is not currently offering swimming lessons or other programming that would require the advisory board. Minutes record the council agreed the board could be re-created if future needs arise.
Separately, the council accepted Damon Anuci’s resignation as the alternate on the White Cloud Sherman Utility Board, citing scheduling conflicts that prevent him from attending utility board meetings. The resignation was accepted by motion and recorded as carried.
