The White Cloud City Council on Oct. 7 approved two community special-event applications: a Fall Festival & Street Dance scheduled for Oct. 18 from 3 to 8 p.m., and a Halloween Hollow 'Trunk or Treat' at the White Cloud County Campground on Oct. 31.
The Fall Festival application describes a live band, vendors, a chili and soup cookoff to benefit Ax Arcade & Gaming Youth Center, a Pine Cone-hosted bounce house, and planned food permits for a caramel apple bar and hot cocoa. Council approved the application (motion by Amy Barnhard, seconded by Herm Becker) without recorded opposition.
For Halloween Hollow, the council approved the event and unanimously waived the campground fee; the application outlines a car lineup for trunk-or-treat, a potential costume contest if volunteers are available, and a trunk-or-treat period from 5:00–6:30 p.m. Newaygo County Parks had approved the park use earlier in the day, as noted in the minutes.
