Planning commission approves 17-lot cluster preliminary plat on Foxfire Road

A majority of the Cleveland Municipal Planning Commission voted Jan. 20 to approve a cluster preliminary plat for about 3.02 acres on Foxfire Road, authorizing 17 buildable lots and an interior sidewalk. Senior Planner Robert Varnell told the commission the proposal meets recently adjusted cluster development standards but requires labeling corrections and that a mail kiosk location be shown on the plat.
Varnell said the plat "meets those new standards" and that staff comments include sidewalk requirements on both sides of the internal street and several engineering labeling notes. Commissioner Blake Allison asked specifically whether sidewalks were shown on the southeast side; Varnell replied that the submitted PUD will be updated to reflect sidewalks on both sides and on Foxfire Road.
Commissioner Clarke Taylor moved to approve the request; the motion was seconded by Blake Allison and passed unanimously, 9-0. The approval is a recommendation to City Council; final implementation will follow any engineering corrections and the council review required for plats.
