The Campbell County Board of Education instructed the architect and general contractor for the Jacksboro Elementary gymnasium project to provide an agreed completion date and documentation that the architect has vetted the steel erectors' compliance with contract specifications.
Attorney Cantrell told the board the parties had submitted a proposal and that he viewed the submission as "a good faith effort to step forward," and recommended the board set a deadline to ensure progress. Chairman Jeffrey Miller moved that the architect and general contractor provide a completion date they both agree upon and deliver documentation showing the architect has agreed the steel erectors meet contract specifications by Dec. 1. Jamie Wheeler seconded the motion.
The motion passed on roll call: Creekmore—yes; Cummins—yes; Fields—absent; Heatherly—yes; Johnson—yes; Lasley—yes; Lester—yes; Ridenour—yes; Wheeler—yes; Miller—yes. The board did not set additional contractual remedies in the motion; the direction requires the contractor and architect to supply the date and the architect's vetting paperwork for the board record.
