Campbell County Board adopts 2026–27 school calendar and shifts winter meeting times

The Campbell County Board of Education adopted the 2026–27 school calendar during its Dec. 9 meeting, setting key instructional and in‑service dates and confirming the last school day as May 28, 2026.
Under the approved calendar, teachers will report for in‑service beginning Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, with the first full student day Monday, Aug. 10. The packet lays out mid‑term and report card dates, fall and spring breaks, and administrative in‑service days. The board also approved a motion to change the starting time of regular-session meetings to 5:00 p.m. for the months of December 2025 through March 2026.
Chair Jeffrey Miller said the board reviewed a calendar developed by a committee made up of school staff, teacher organization representatives, a board member and school administrators. The calendar committee met during September and October to finalize dates. The board approved the calendar as part of a bundled motion that included other agenda items; Fields was recorded absent for the roll call vote.
