The Cedar Hill Board of Mayor and Commissioners voted unanimously on Jan. 6 to award contracts to renovate the community clubhouse and to install plank flooring. Mayor Edwards moved to award the renovation contract to Dwayne Wilson; Vice Mayor Pettus seconded the motion, which passed with all three commissioners voting in the affirmative.
Mayor Edwards said the flooring selection favored plank flooring “due to ease of repairing small sections versus replacing entire flooring in the future.” The board accepted three flooring quotes and chose A1 Floors for the plank installation after a motion by Mayor Edwards and a second by Commissioner Kirby.
The board noted prior satisfactory work by Dwayne Wilson on a previous bid, and City Manager Kevin Breeding will contact the awarded contractors to finalize scheduling and contract details. No dollar amounts for the awarded contracts were discussed or recorded in the minutes.
The next administrative step is contact by the city manager to the contractors to confirm scope, timeline and any required permits or insurance documentation.
